Longboard brackets are pieces of hardware that can be mounted onto your longboard in order to drop it down closer to the ground. They also offer more stability and make smoother turns, easier slides and a longer push easier to achieve. Longboard skateboard brackets are aftermarket hardware components and they are designed in different styles and sizes and are for different types of longboard skateboards. Longboard brackets are usually made out of either metal or a very solid, strong and durable plastic material.
There are 2 basic sizes to longboard brackets: Standard Drop and Deep Drop. Standard drop longboard brackets provide a 10mm drop and deep drop longboard brackets provide a 35mm drop.
These are a few specific longboard brackets designed by a company called G Bomb:
Super Fork Brackets–
This longboard bracket is essentially a tuning fork drop through bracket. It provides 35mm of drop and 13 degrees of wedge. It is made out of aluminum alloy and it is strong, durable and lightweight. This particular longboard bracket is specifically designed for use with a Bennett 5.0 style truck. The design of the longboard bracket tucks the truck in close to the longboard deck in order to provide a low ride with sufficient wheel clearance for deep pumps.
Deep Drop Brackets–
This longboard bracket also has a strong, lightweight design and is made out of aluminum alloy. It is capable of providing an infinite amount of adjustability of truck angles in a range of 37 degrees from +14 (wedge) to -23 (dewedge). It has an aggressive 35mm drop and it delivers a suspension that is both strong and dynamic. This longboard bracket can be used with pretty much any and all wheel sizes, big or small.
These longboard pump front brackets can be essentially used to optimize pumping efficiency when they are paired up with a Standard Drop Adjustable Bracket in the rear. These are also aluminum alloy, strong and lightweight longboard brackets. It tucks the truck in tight to the front of the deck which results in optimized geometry for both pumping leverage and wheel clearance.
Standard Drop Brackets–
These longboard brackets provide an infinite amount of adjustability of truck angles from +17 (wedge) to -18 (dewedge), and 10 mm of drop which can accommodate large-sized wheels yet still maintain sufficient leverage for pumping.
Below is a list of a few different companies who make and/or sell types of aftermarket longboard brackets.
